At roughly 1:56 am on Saturday August 17th, 2024, someone driving down Ford Rd lost control of their vehicle, and crashed directly through the front door of our building. By 1:57 the alarm company was calling to see if police needed to be dispatched. By 2:03 the police were on the scene and there was no sign of the driver. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, and she was the only person involved in the crash. But the adventure was just beginning for Carrot Stick Sports, and the salon that we share the building with, 2 Archer Salon. 

Every year fall is an exciting time with College and NFL Football, the MLB Playoffs, and the start of the NHL and NBA Season. This year we get an added bonus. The World Cup! 

Ahh, Spring. A time for new beginnings and hope for sports fans. The Madness of March, and the college basketball tournament, is behind us so much is still ahead of us. Around the sports world excitement is building that will have all of us fired up for what comes next. 

The Carousel tends to start when a coach signs a big contract, and this year it appears that was Mel Tucker at Michigan State. All of the rumors about where he might go immediately stopped, and it didn't take long until we started seeing jump ship. The three big ones were Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Oregon losing their head coaches. These are big time programs and the coaches resigned to go to other jobs that, in my opinion, offer less stability. 

"A Wolverine would dominate a Duck." "What the heck is an Aggie?" "I don't know. I think a Mountaineer might be able to take a Cavalier." Things like that were regular discussions before we actually cared about the games themselves. 

I know, I know, they always talking about the Holidays being the most wonderful time of the year, but I just don't buy into that. For me, as a sports fan, Fall is the most wonderful time. That's right, I said it, and I don't feel the least bit bad about it.
